261.Genuine Boy Scout axe head (no handle) by PLUMB. Has the Boy Scout emblem stamped into the metal. Nice collectors item, put in your own handle.$30

261.FAIRBANKS, CAST IRON AND BRASS, COUNTER TOP, POSTAL SCALE as seen in the old country Post Offices. Very nice original condition. Will weigh anything from an envelope, up to a fairly good size package, giving the weight in cents and dollars. A great decorator!,$275

269.A wonderful old skinning knife marked BUSHMAN in banner and Warranted, Cast Steel, Sheffield with crown VR proof, all on the flat of the blade. A real hunting knife, brass mounted walnut handle with 5 1/4' blade and original leather sheath. About as good a rifleman's knife as you will find anywhere.$350

287.A nicely carved and scrimshawed bone fork that was probably made by some sailor while on board of a ship. Really well done with the handle the shape of a fish. Very old with nice patina.$75

371.Tin 'Tinder Box', with hinged lid. Contains iron striker, piece of flint and cotton waste, used to make a fire in the early days. Every soldier, Mountain Man, Indian, etc had to have one of these as a piece of his equipment. You just could not survive without fire or the means to make one. A wonderful old set.$250

507.CHINESE CLEAVER, used to chop meat and vegetables. More important, they were often used as a weapon. This piece came from Deadwood, South Dakota that once had a large Chinese population who worked in the Gold Mines there. Chinese markings on the blade. Be ready for the next TONG WAR.$235

509.Brass COIN SCALE on wood base. Used in the old days to weigh $20. $10. and $5.00 gold pieces. It was a fairly common practice to shave these gold coins in the early days and pick up a few extra dollars in fine gold dust. While the weights are gone, since this is a balance scale, you could use fine condition coins against the coins you wanted to weigh. Now you can make sure that you are getting your money's worth!,$200

619.NICE BIG 5 X 6 PAIR OF HEAVY BEAM, WHITETAIL DEER HORNS. Buck was found on the prairie and horns are bleached out nearly white. Have a few tufts of velvet still clinging to them. Easy to darken with brown stain. This is the buck we have all been looking for.$425

689.OLD TIME BUFFALO COAT AS USED HERE IN TO WEST TO WARD OFF THE SEVERE COLD AND BLIZZARDS. Used by both military and civilian as it was the very best protection. Quite good condition, most likely military as sold by the ARMY AND NAVY STORE, of Los Angeles.$1450

698.LARGE FOLDING POCKET KNIFE WITH Wood HANDLES BY THE WATERVILLE MANUFS CO. WATERBORO, CONNECTICUT. A real early American knife, circa 1852 and the type carried by many soldiers during the Mexican and Civil Wars. Shows much wear and use but still in reasonably good condition. Could well be the oldest folding pocket knife in your collection.$265

740.COLLINS & CO. MACHETTE WITH 14 INCH BLADE, No. 127. Portion of original label on blade. Leather and brass handle. Comes with original tooled leather scabbard also marked Collins.$245

758.OLD HAND CARVED, DIAMOND WILLOW CANE. Many fine diamonds on this old piece, they type most difficult to find. The carver had carved the words, ORMAN DAM, on the shaft. Orman Dam is located here in South Dakota near Belle Fourche, in Butte County. This helps to identify the piece.$85

783.SHEFFELD, CULTERY HANDLE BOWIE BY MASON WITH MOTTO ON BLADE. The motto is: NEVER DRAW ME WITHOUT REASON, NOR SHEATH ME WITHOUT HONOUIR. A real nice old spear point bowie with 6 1/2 inch blade, silver guard and handle, original nickel mounted leather scabbard. Few small rust spots on blade from being in sheath other wise fine.$1675

985.IRISH SHILLELAGH, CANE, OR KNOTTED HARDWOOD CLUB. Brought to America from Ireland by an immigrant family in the late 1800's. A neat old piece with numerous knots or burls, a formable weapon. Must have taken some real courage to sell the family shillelagh! Now their loss could be yours.$375

1038.Framed sign warning that the property or business is 'Protected by the William J. Burns International Detective Agency Inc.' The Burns firm was similar to the even more famous Pinkertons, and provided security when local law enforcement couldn't. 9'x 6', heavy steel construction, white on dark blue embossed porcelain finish. Frame is 11 1/2' x 9 1/2', with a matting surface which resembles alligator leather. Serial # (business I.D. ?) F55164. Detective agency buffs would have a field day researching this one!!,$175

1040.Old, square-nosed meat cleaver. 8' blade with brass-riveted hardwood handle, 14' overall. Blade marked 'Foster Bros.', traces of red paint on handle. Excellent condition.$45

1197.RAILROAD CAR WALL LAMP. Cast brass lamp, with wall mount for use in a rail car. This is an oil lamp and complete except for the wall bracket that it fastens to is a replacement. Will show very well, missing only the glass chimney which would be easy to obtain. Made much like the angle lamps but much heavier metal to withstand the jar of the rail car.$385

1199.PAINTED CANVAS, SNOW GOOSE DECOY. Goose is in the feeding position with head down. An early piece showing use. Made without legs but will set on a bent wire stand or on thick stubble in a grain field. A nice old piece showing what you could use if money was short,$150

1399.A REAL PIECE OF AMERICANA. HAND CARVED, CROOKED CANE THAT CAME FROM DEADWOOD, IN THE BLACK HILLS OF SOUTH DAKOTA. 33 inches tall with rattle snake, coyote, deer, lizard and the Odd Fellows symbol, plus the name DODE. We have been dealing in canes of all types for many years and this is one of the most unique that we have encountered. 1430.OLD ENGRAVED BRONZE WATCH FOB, WITH DIAMOND, PRESENTED TO M.L, ERLANGER AS SHERIFF OF NEW YORK COUNTY, NEW YORK IN 1904. Erlanger later became Supreme Court, Chief Justice of the state of New York and is well listed in various publications. Fob is on a black ribbon with hook catch for watch. Former owner said that he had the diamond checked out and it was a real one (but quite small.) HISTORIC!,$785

1492.CIVIL WAR ERA, SURGICAL SET INCLUDING BONE SAWS AND KNIVES, CASED IN A BRASS BOUND ROSEWOOD BOX. There is a leather gun sling which was possibly used as a tourniquet, also some surgical needles. 1495.PERRIGO'S BARB WIRE LINIMENT, FOR MAN OR BEAST. Partial bottle with nice label For cramp or sore throat. I remember as a boy, our local druggist, Guy C. Loop also made a similar liniment. One of the key ingredients was creosote with a dash of alcohol, That combination was bound to cure anything. A couple of swigs of that stuff made you forget about any ailment you might have.$35

1518.FULL CAN, TEN POUNDS, MINERS LAMP CARBIDE, BY THE UNION CARBIDE CO. A nice old can, full of the highest gas yield carbide. No idea where this has been hiding these many years, but the Black Hills here in South Dakota is full of abandoned old gold mines.$85
