Brass COIN SCALE on wood base.  Used in the old days to weigh $20. $10., and $5.00 gold pieces.  It was a fairly common practice to shave these gold coins in the early days and pick up a few extra dollars in fine gold dust.  While the weights are gone, since this is a balance scale, you could use fine condition coins against the coins you wanted to weigh.  Now you can make sure that you are getting your money's worth! $200.00.  Picture No:509

1038. Framed sign warning that the property or business is 'Protected  by the William J. Burns International Detective Agency Inc.' The Burns firm was similar to the even more famous Pinkertons, and provided security when local law enforcement couldn't. 9'x 6', heavy steel construction, and white on dark blue embossed porcelain finish. Frame is 11 1/2' x 9 1/2', with a matting surface which resembles alligator leather. Serial # (business I.D. ?)  F55164.
